The "Power Story"
is a series done a few years back when living in Portugal.
The images concentrate on details and views captured from
the base of three different well known monuments located at
distinct areas of Lisbon.
Most people passing by in their cars, buses, or even walking
by the surrounding roundabouts usually fail to notice the
details at the bottom of the monuments. These details remind
us the inevitable suffering surrounding the historical date
or hero being celebrated. It seems inevitable that all official
versions regarding historical events tend to understate and,
sometimes, completely eliminate the suffering of millions
who usually pay the highest price over disputes and conflicts
they very rarely benefit from. It's been like that for ages,
and still is and, by the look of things, will carry on being
for quite sometime.
